the social sculpture Flying Udder highlighted the initiation of the art deco motor ship MS Oesterreich transforming into the first historical art ship of Europe.
Artist Barbara Anna Husar surprised with a concert experience between teats, sky and water on 23rd of August above Lake of Constance. Her FLYING UDDER airship became the heavenly messenger for the maiden voyage of the MS Oesterreich as a future satellite for art institutions. |
EUTERballon wurde Klangkörper – ein Luftkonzert über dem Lustschiff
Mit einem besonderen Konzerterlebnis zwischen Zitzen, Himmel und Wasser überraschte die Künstlerin Barbara Anna Husar am 23. August über dem Bodensee. Ihr EUTER-Luftschiff wurde zur Himmelsbotin für die Jungfernfahrt der MS OESTERREICH als erstes historisches Kunstschiff Europas.

This artistic act of fertilisation on the high seas started at Symphonikerplatz in front of Festspielhaus Bregenz. From there, the pink, 35-meter-high balloon was pulled onto the water, where it docked with the MS Oesterreich. The historic steamship Hohentwiel served as an escort. As soon as the FLYING UDDER hovered over the art ship, it changed into a resonating body and transformed Lake of Constance into an experimental stage between air and water. With a milking funnel, Evelyn Fink-Mennel in a gold-plated balloon basket coverd the lake with the traditional blessing chant from the Alps. A trio from the Bregenz Festival’s performance of Rigoletto and the Flamenco Trio Gypsy Couine entered from the ships into an experimental dialogue. Above the waves of Lake Constance, these tones created a sonorous space of resonance, which was also influenced by the air temperature and wind direction. The passengers on both ships became part of the truly elementary orchestration.
Dieser kunstvolle Befruchtungsakt auf hoher See startete am Symphonikerplatz vor dem Festspielhaus. Von dort wurde der pinkfarbene 35m hohe Ballon auf das Wasser gezogen, um an der MS OESTERREICH anzudocken. Als Eskorte diente das historische Dampfschiff Hohentwiel. Als der EUTERballon über dem Kunstschiff schwebte, wandelte er sich in einen Klangkörper und machte den Bodensee zur experimentellen Bühne zwischen Luft und Wasser. Mit einem Melktrichter überzog Evelyn Fink-Mennel im vergoldeten Ballonkorb den See mit dem Alpsegen. Bläser aus dem Rigoletto Reigen der Bregenzer Festspiele und das Flamenco Trio Gypsy Couine traten auf den Schiffen in eine experimentelle Beziehung. Über den Wellen des Bodensees kreierten diese Töne einen klingenden Raum der Resonanz, den auch Lufttemperatur und Windrichtung mitgestalteten. Die Passagiere der beiden Schiffe wurden Teil der elementaren Inszenierung.
The udder-shaped hot air balloon gives greater visibility to ideas for sustainable development. In this multi-sensual production, the renovated luxury liner from 1928 experienced a new level of meaning for the first time. The Art Déco motor ship will serve from now on as a floating contemporary art space for renowned art institutions in the region. The Hittisau Women’s Museum offers the prelude, showing points of reference to the current exhibition “birth culture. giving birth and being born”. This cultural highlight was a summer surprise from Historische Schifffahrt Bodensee and brought a breath of fresh air to the experience of art.
Der Heißluftballon in Euterform verleiht nachhaltigen Entwicklungsimpulsen eine höhere Sichtbarkeit. In dieser multisensualen Inszenierung erfuhr der renovierte Luxus-Liner von 1928 erstmals seine neue Bedeutungsebene. Das Art déco-Motorschiff wird in Zukunft als schwimmender Raum für Gegenwartskunst namhaften Kunsthäusern der Region als Satellit dienen. Das Frauenmuseum Hittisau bildet den Auftakt und zeigt Bezugspunkte zur aktuellen Ausstellung "GEBURTSKULTUR vom gebären und geboren werden". Diese kulturelle Sternstunde war eine Sommerüberraschung der historischen Schifffahrt Bodensee und brachte frischen Wind in die Erfahrbarkeit von Kunst.
